Sweet Tamarind

Last week, while wandering around Chicago and after the cupcake failure, Tessa and I randomly came across Sweet Tamarind, a Thai restaurant in the Lakeview area.

Although it's difficult to go wrong with Thai food, I believe it's equally as difficult to make exceptional Thai food. This could be because the first time I had Thai food was at my classmate's house and her mom always whipped us up some home cooked Thai food for our after school snacks. She even made pad thai without peanuts so that I wouldn't die from allergies.

Both Tessa and I were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was at Sweet Tamarind.
Tessa ordered the Pad See-eu with Beef. The noodles weren't tough nor were they too soft. Also they had been cooked just long enough so that the noodles sucked up the flavors of the oils perfectly. The beef was tender and the broccoli was crunchy.

I ordered Yellow Curry Fried Rice with Chicken. Not only did it taste excellent it looked so cute!!! I'm a sucker for cute things - Pandas, Puppies, Kerokerokeropi, and the list goes on. My day was made by this heart shaped food. It reminded me of how Kate Gosselin (Jon & Kate Plus 8) made heart-shaped pancakes for her kids on Valentine's Day.
